About this pack

Rank, era and allegiance are read off headwear before anything else a character is wearing, which makes twenty-five military hats a surprisingly efficient purchase. This volume covers peaked and service caps, field and patrol caps, berets, sidecaps, brimmed campaign hats and dress designs with cords and badges — enough to populate a barracks, a parade or a checkpoint without any two soldiers looking identical.

Contents

  • 25 military hat and cap meshes in FBX and OBJ
  • Clean and editable topology on all of them
  • Between 1k and 7k triangles each, depending on the design
  • 25 preview renders, one per hat
  • Every design distinct in shape and theme

These are the lightest meshes in the series, and that is the point of them. Headwear is small on screen and there is usually a great deal of it about, so 1k to 7k triangles means a whole crowd costs less than a single character prop. They are clean enough to sit on a head rig straight away, and simple enough to be edited freely — reshape a crown, flatten a brim, remove a badge — without the topology fighting back.

For a sculpted pipeline they work as a start rather than a finish: subdivide, push the fabric creases and the wear at the peak, and bake down onto the original. For everything else they are usable as delivered. One note on the previews: the textured example in the renders illustrates how a base looks once it has been textured, and is not part of what the pack contains. Built in 3ds Max, Blender, Marvelous Designer, Maya and Substance Painter.

Every purchase includes free lifetime updates and a no-questions-asked 7 day money back guarantee.

About Base Meshes

A base mesh exists to delete the boring part of the job. Everything in this aisle is at real-world scale with quad-dominant topology, sensible edge flow and no ngons where they would cause shading errors — ready to sculpt over, kitbash from, or take straight to UVs.
