About this pack

Modern and mid-century military headgear, twenty-five designs, built as base meshes. This is the contemporary counterpart to the warrior volumes in the series: combat shells with rail systems and mounting points, older steel patterns, para and tanker designs, padded liners, chin harnesses and cover cloth. Character artists working on soldiers, and environment artists dressing an armoury or a supply crate, are served by the same twenty-five files.

What is in the pack

  • 25 military helmet base meshes, each a separate design
  • FBX and OBJ versions of the complete set
  • Both UV channels unwrapped, ready for the baking process
  • Under 32k triangles per mesh
  • Three archives: FBX, OBJ and a preview set

The budget is looser here than on the earlier volumes, and deliberately so: the mounting hardware, the strap furniture and the shell edges on a modern design are all small hard-surface forms that fall apart if the base is too coarse to sculpt over. With them present, subdividing and adding the paint chipping, the webbing and the unit markings takes an evening rather than a week, and the bake to a low-poly target uses the second UV channel that is already there.

Because the shells are modelled as clean closed forms, they also fit a head rig without a fight, and can be cut down or swapped between characters to give a squad some individuality. The FBX and the OBJ archives carry the same twenty-five models, so a team split across two packages can work from one set without a conversion step in the middle, and a design that needs no sculpting at all can go from the archive into a game engine as it is.

About Base Meshes

A base mesh exists to delete the boring part of the job. Everything in this aisle is at real-world scale with quad-dominant topology, sensible edge flow and no ngons where they would cause shading errors — ready to sculpt over, kitbash from, or take straight to UVs.
