34 Torn Fabric Texture + Stencil Generator — VOL 12. Built for Substance Painter and Substance Designer. Seamless in both axes at 4K.
Lace costs a character artist a week of work and reads for half a second, which is the argument for owning a library of it rather than authoring one per job. This twelfth volume of the fabric series is the studio's trim collection: forty border strips built to run along a hem, a cuff, a collar or a table edge, and eight trim sheets for the cases where one texture has to serve a whole garment. It was authored against Marvelous Designer and Substance, and the opacity channel does the cutting, so a scalloped edge holds without a single extra polygon behind it.
The trims go on late in the process. Bring an SBSAR into Substance Painter, drop it onto the strip of UV space the hem occupies, and the exposed parameters set scale and repeat without a trip back to Designer. The opacity map is the part worth planning for: assign it to the alpha slot and the edge cuts itself, which is what lets a flat plane read as needlework under a close render. For sculpted work the Height map is the authored original rather than something derived, so it pushes straight through a displacement modifier, and the EXR is there for pipelines that carry displacement in floating point.
The eight trim sheets answer the other half of the job. Instead of one motif tiling forever, a sheet packs several bands into a single texture, so a bodice, its sleeves and its skirt panel can share one material and one draw call between them. Laying UV shells across the bands is quicker than authoring a pattern per piece, and the bands sit on a common baseline, so a shell can be moved from one to another without re-aligning anything.

These packs cover the surface detail that generators cannot invent for you. Every pattern is seamless in both axes, authored from height data first so the normal and ambient occlusion maps agree with each other, and tuned for even contrast across the whole set.
Use them as stencils, projections, trim strips or straight tiling fills. They work in Substance Painter and Designer, ZBrush, Blender and any DCC that reads a PNG.
