About this pack

Every cloth material starts with a weave, and a weave is the one thing a procedural generator rarely gets right — the thread has to pass over and under in a way the eye reads as construction rather than as noise. This is the first volume of the studio's fabric library: forty woven structures captured as map sets, meant to sit underneath whatever colour and roughness work happens on top. If your package reads a PNG it can use these, which in practice means all of them.

What you get

  • 40 Normal maps, 16-bit PNG
  • 40 displacement maps, 16-bit PNG
  • 40 ambient occlusion maps, 8-bit PNG
  • Seamless tiling in both directions across the whole set
  • Two complete sets published free as samples

The pack is built for layered work. A weave is not a material — it is the substrate a material sits on. Send the displacement to a height input, let the Normal ride over whatever surface detail comes later, and treat the occlusion as a mask rather than as lighting: multiplied into base colour it darkens the valleys between threads and gives a flat diffuse the depth that even lighting refuses to show on its own.

Because the maps ship separately rather than pre-assembled into a finished material, the same forty structures cover cotton, canvas, wool and upholstery without any duplication in the library. Scale decides the fibre: tiled across four centimetres a pattern reads as coarse sacking, and the identical file across four millimetres reads as a shirt. Sixteen bits of depth in the displacement is what makes that range survivable — an 8-bit height map banded at close magnification is the usual reason a weave looks stepped in a render.

Two of the forty are free to download. That is the sensible way to check tiling, contrast and scale against your own lighting before committing to the rest of the set.

Every purchase includes free lifetime updates and a no-questions-asked 7 day money back guarantee.

About Textures & Patterns

These packs cover the surface detail that generators cannot invent for you. Every pattern is seamless in both axes, authored from height data first so the normal and ambient occlusion maps agree with each other, and tuned for even contrast across the whole set.

Use them as stencils, projections, trim strips or straight tiling fills. They work in Substance Painter and Designer, ZBrush, Blender and any DCC that reads a PNG.
