About this pack

Fifty shields, built as base meshes for the moment in a project when a shield is needed and none of the good ones exist yet. The set spans round and oval boards, kite and heater shapes, bucklers, rimmed and bossed variants and several tower forms, with enough difference between them that a faction can be given its own family of shapes rather than one shape in three sizes.

What is in the package

  • 50 shield meshes, each a separate design
  • FBX and OBJ archives — two files in total
  • UV channels 1 and 2 laid out on every mesh
  • Under 10k triangles per mesh
  • Proper UVs across the front face, for artwork

A shield is one of the few props where the flat front face does most of the storytelling, and that is why the UVs matter more here than on almost anything else in this aisle. The first channel is unwrapped so heraldry, paint and decals sit square on the boards without stretching; the second is there for baking, so a plank-and-rivet highpoly sculpted over the base transfers back down cleanly. Bake once and you can repaint the same board a dozen times for a dozen factions.

In practice the set gets used at both ends of a production. Early on it fills a blockout, so the animation and combat teams have something with correct mass and reach to work against. Later the same meshes become the low-poly targets for finished assets, or go into the scene as they are: at under 10k triangles they cost little enough to hang along a hall or pile behind a barricade. Modelled across 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, Substance Painter and ZBrush.

Every purchase includes free lifetime updates and a no-questions-asked 7 day money back guarantee.

About Base Meshes

A base mesh exists to delete the boring part of the job. Everything in this aisle is at real-world scale with quad-dominant topology, sensible edge flow and no ngons where they would cause shading errors — ready to sculpt over, kitbash from, or take straight to UVs.
