About this pack

The fourth volume of the damage series, and the second set built specifically around holes. Where earlier volumes handled surface wear, this one is destructive: alphas that punch through a floor, break open a wall, blow a hole in a panel and leave a believable edge around it. They are meant to sit in an archive and be reached for the moment a scene has to look like something happened in it.

The breakdown

  • 70 damage and hole alphas, plus 10 seamless damage textures, in 16-bit PNG
  • 70 damage and hole alphas, plus 10 seamless damage textures, in 16-bit TIFF
  • 70 damage and hole alphas, plus 10 seamless damage textures, in 16-bit PSD
  • Every texture at 4K
  • A preview render for each alpha

The seventy alphas are individual, placeable pieces of damage. Used as an opacity mask they remove material outright, which is the fastest way to open a hole in a plane without touching the topology; used as height they become a crater or a fracture with depth. Sixteen bits of precision keeps the crumbling edge from banding when the height is exaggerated, and that edge is the whole reason a damage alpha either convinces or does not.

The ten seamless textures do the job the alphas cannot. Tiling damage covers a large area with consistent wear — a whole cracked floor, a whole spalled wall — and then the individual alphas break the uniformity with specific, deliberate holes. Combining the two in that order is what stops large-scale destruction reading as a repeating pattern.

Three formats are supplied because pipelines differ: PSD for anyone who wants the layers, TIFF for offline rendering, PNG for everything else. The model and the scene visible in the preview renders are there to demonstrate the alphas and are not part of the download.

Every purchase includes free lifetime updates and a no-questions-asked 7 day money back guarantee.

About Textures & Patterns

These packs cover the surface detail that generators cannot invent for you. Every pattern is seamless in both axes, authored from height data first so the normal and ambient occlusion maps agree with each other, and tuned for even contrast across the whole set.

Use them as stencils, projections, trim strips or straight tiling fills. They work in Substance Painter and Designer, ZBrush, Blender and any DCC that reads a PNG.
